This newest generation macbook pro with touch bar doesn't work anymore after restarting it. the mac os software doesnt work anymore and is impossible to fix.. When software update says that your mac is up to date, macos and all of its apps are also up to date. that includes safari , i tunes , books, messages, mail, calendar, photos, and facetime. to automatically install macos updates in the future, including apps downloaded from the app store, select ”automatically keep my mac up to date.”. However, that has not been my experience and even with a brand new mac, using the os it comes with (meaning, no erasing, no re-imaging, just configured).. after rebooting for the 10.12.2 update, i get that prompt for a "critical software update"..
